IBM off campus drive 2024 for Cloud SRE Engineer .The IBM Cloud Databases (ICD) team is responsible for developing and operating the Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings that provide Database as a Services (DBaaS) in IBM Cloud.
The Site Reliability engineer must have a deep understanding of the database server software, HA configurations, and general operations in a production environment. The key requirement is to have a passion for maintaining a High quality, Highly Available service.
We are a “You build it, You run it” culture. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will join our follow-the-sun rotation where you will be the primary responder for automated system alerts. You will follow runbooks to resolve such issues and use your troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose or troubleshoot platform or Data Service issues.
Skills set Required for this Job :
- Will be working India hours (9AM IST -5 PM IST)
- Experience operating a cloud-based service and CICD environment.
- Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters.
- Understanding and updating Helm charts.
- Understanding container lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting failures in the control plane or container.
- Ability to write or modify existing automations in Python, or bash shell.
- Experience with the installation administration of a mainstream database technology such as PostgreSQL, Elastic, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Software installation.
- HA configuration and troubleshooting.
- Debugging resource contention.
- Note that we are focused on operating the database server software and NOT on the data inside the databases. Knowledge of schemas, query structure, or other data manipulation is NOT required but is a plus.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise :
- In depth knowledge of at least one Cloud Provider IaaS ecosystem (VPC, Storage, IAM)
- Experience with GoLang

- ensuring that data processing and storage operations run smoothly and in compliance with business security guidelines and industry best practices for cloud security.
- locating, evaluating, and fixing problems with application deployment and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- examining current systems on a regular basis and offering suggestions for enhancements.
- interacting with customers, offering cloud support, and formulating suggestions in accordance with their requirements.
