Latest job opening in Avalara for Security Engineer . Our organisation is seeking a security analyst that is diligent and detail-oriented to oversee the security systems under our care. Securing our on-premises and online infrastructures, identifying and removing suspicious activity, and identifying and reducing security risks before they become breaches are all part of the duties of the security analyst. You will collaborate across departments to find and fix any security system vulnerabilities.

As a Security Analyst – Tooling, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organization’s security posture by spearheading design, implementation, and maintenance of cutting – edge security tools. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding our critical assets, data, reputation, and employees from an ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape.  

Skills set Required for this Job :
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.  
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security tools and technologies 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and attack vectors 
  • Familiarity with various security tools, including SIEM, antivirus, endpoint security, vulnerability scanners, and email protection.  
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret security data and identify potential threats and vulnerabilities 
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or relevant vendor specific certifications are a plus 
  • Effective communication and collaborations skills to work efficiently with international teams.  
Job Responsibilities
  • Proactively monitor performance and health of security tools already in place within the organization, promptly addressing issues or vulnerabilities to maintain optimal efficiency.  
  • Tailor existing security tooling to match Avalara specific needs.  
  • Ensure weekly/monthly/quarterly updates are being completed on security tooling 
  • Innovation and research: 
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancement in security tools, actively researching and proposing innovative solutions to enhance our overall security posture.  
  • Cross-Team collaboration: 
  • Work closely with other security professionals, IT teams, and product stakeholders to ensure the successful integration and operation of security tools throughout the organization.  
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on security tool configurations, policies, procedures, and best practices.
