Skills set Required for this Job :
- Bachelors degree in computer related field and two years related experience or Diploma degree in computer related field with four years of experience required.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and prevailing office software required.
- Some experience in computer support or customer service desired.
- proficiency with Linux, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows among other computer operating systems.
- exceptional practical understanding of servers, networks, and system upkeep in the context of computers.
- good knowledge of computer hardware, such as servers, routers, printers, and laptops.
- strong ability to diagnose and solve problems.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- good communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
- the capacity to remain current with the newest developments in both software and hardware.
Job Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, performs routine tier-one Helpdesk computer support and responds to user requests. Will assist users in resolving problems through diagnosis and discussion of the particular problem. Will take the necessary steps to recognize the problem, isolate, and resolve the problem. Typically resolves problems of a moderate level of complexity, referring more difficult problems to senior-level personnel.
- Performs basic workstation and network troubleshooting analysis and problem resolution.
- Performs basic hardware and software installation.
- Performs computer and peripheral (printer, A/V, etc.) setup and maintenance.
- Assists with backup, archiving, and restoration of data and electronic media.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- updating out-of-date hardware systems, software, and firmware.
- keeping an eye on security system maintenance and updates.
- fixing technical issues and offering users technical support.
- conducting backups, upgrades, and tests on a regular basis.
