The Graduate Engineering Trainee is an entry-level role designed for fresh graduates who are passionate about software engineering and modern digital technologies. The role focuses on learning and contributing to the design, development, testing, and delivery of scalable and efficient software solutions across web, API, and data platforms.

The individual will work closely with senior engineers, solution architects, and engineering managers to gain hands-on experience in enterprise application development, cloud-native technologies, and software engineering best practices. This role provides exposure to modern technology areas such as application and data integration, databases, DevOps, cloud computing, containerization, and emerging technologies like GenAI.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and enhancement of software applications, APIs, and platform components under guidance.
• Learn and apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and design principles.
•  Write clean, readable, and maintainable code with support from senior team members.
• Participate in unit testing, debugging, and basic performance optimization of applications.
• Support implementation of small proof-of-concepts, prototypes, or technology experiments.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, and architecture.
• Gain exposure to modern development tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms as part of projects.
•  Contribute to technical documentation, version control, and CI/CD activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with mentoring support.
• Actively participate in learning initiatives, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Key skills required

• Programming fundamentals with Java or other object-oriented languages
• Strong understanding of OOPS concepts
• Basic knowledge of data structures and problem-solving
• Familiarity with databases (SQL / NoSQL concepts)
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Willingness to learn multithreading, performance basics, and system design concepts

Good to Have:

• Basic awareness or coursework exposure to Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Exposure to Docker, containers, or serverless concepts
• Familiarity with Node.js or any backend scripting language
• Basic understanding of frontend frameworks like React / Angular / Vue
• Academic or project exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or Git-based version control
• Curiosity and interest in GenAI and emerging technologies
