Your role and responsibilities
- Gather and translate internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications, business process re-engineering
- Code solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the internal banking applications and systems with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces
- Participates and contributes to the delivery/release (CI/CD) events. e.g., branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes
- Document the models and findings, support data collation and processing that is helpful in development and delivery.
- Perform proof of concept to implement new ideas or mitigate risk.
- Ensure execution and delivery meets technology’s expectations in terms of the functionality, quality, performance, reliability, and timelines
- Work with global development teams and business partners across APAC, EMEA & AMRS and translate business / functional requirements for banking, trading, markets etc
- Identify, escalate, and resolve incidents and issues

Apprentice Role Job Description
As part of the GBS Technology Team, the automation testing role plays an important part in maintaining software quality across Banking, Global Markets, Enterprise Risk, and Finance groups. The team works on testing and delivering complex applications that support key business goals.
In this role, you will define the test scope, plan and run tests, and ensure that every software release meets functional, non-functional, and compliance standards. You will also be responsible for creating test data, running manual and automated tests, reporting results, identifying defects, and keeping regression test suites updated.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute end-to-end (E2E) test strategies for applications
- Work in Agile teams and collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners
- Understand business processes to perform both functional and non-functional testing
- Build test conditions and write test scripts using functional design documents
- Perform unit testing and component integration testing
- Design and run technical tests such as load testing, failover testing, recoverability, and operational checks
- Document test scripts and report test progress clearly
- Identify issues early and escalate them to the project management team
- Work as a team player following Agile ways of working
- Act as a quality gatekeeper before each application release
Requirements
Eligibility: Final year students graduating in 2026 only
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred Streams: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
- Academic Criteria:
- Minimum 80% in the latest semester OR
