The Service Desk role at HCLTech is a critical part of the IT support operations. As a Service Desk Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for users who face technical issues in their day-to-day work.
This role is suitable for candidates who already have experience in IT support or technical helpdesk roles and want to move forward in their careers with a reputed multinational company.
In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Handling incoming calls, chats, emails, and support tickets from users
Providing first-level technical support for IT-related issues
Troubleshooting problems related to Windows OS, laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals
Supporting applications such as MS Outlook, MS Teams, Office 365, and internal tools
Assisting users with password resets, account unlocks, and system access issues
Resolving basic network-related issues like VPN, Wi-Fi, and connectivity problems
Logging all incidents and service requests accurately in the ticketing tool
Following defined IT processes, SLAs, and security policies
Escalating unresolved or complex issues to L2/L3 support teams
Updating users regularly and ensuring proper closure of tickets
Delivering professional and customer-focused support at all times
Prior experience in IT Service Desk / Technical Support / Helpdesk roles
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Basic understanding of IT concepts, hardware, software, and networking
Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and email applications
Familiarity with ticketing tools is an added advantage
Ability to work in rotational shifts and flexible schedules
Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude
