Skills set Required for this Job :
- a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- solid experience in a similar capacity or as a Linux administrator.
- It is widely sought to have industry credentials like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
- strong knowledge of server hardware and administration experience.
- Possessing knowledge with configuration management systems like Ansible or Puppet is advantageous.
- It helps to know about cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- It’s beneficial to have experience with monitoring programmes like Zabbix or Nagios.
- Capacity to adjust to new technologies and keep abreast with developments in Linux administration and industry trends.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, set up, and maintain software and Linux operating systems.
- Keep an eye on system performance, solve problems, and guarantee high availability and dependability for infrastructure running on Linux.
- Work together with cross-functional teams to develop and put into practice Linux-based business solutions.
- Put security measures in place and keep them up to date to prevent illegal access to Linux systems and guarantee adherence to industry rules.
- Regularly backup your system and implement disaster recovery plans to reduce data loss and ensure business continuity.
- Utilise scripting languages like Python or Bash to automate system administrative duties in order to increase productivity and streamline procedures.
- To maintain appropriate system security and data integrity, manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Install, set up, and manage network services, such as DHCP, LDAP, and DNS.
