To support the work of our data scientists, we are seeking a responsible, multi-skilled data engineer. While staying up to date with prevalent programming and deployment tactics in the industry, the data engineer will be in charge of using machine learning techniques to build and maintain structures that enable data analysis. You should work with colleagues on different parts of this process to make sure your strategy fits the requirements of each project.
Skills set Required for this Job :
- Strong understanding of databases and big data software technologies, specifically Azure and Databricks
- Must have experience in Data Engineering domain
- Must have implemented at least 1 project end-to-end in Databricks
- Must have experience on Databricks which consists of various components (Delta Lake, dbConnect, db API 2.0, Databricks workflows orchestration)
- Must be well versed with Databricks Lakehouse concept and its implementation in enterprise environments
- Must have good understanding to create complex data pipeline
- Must have good knowledge of Data structure & algorithms.
- Should be comfortable with Linux and shell scripting.
- Some experience with Terraform, PowerShell and Gitlab
- Bachelor’s/master’s or equivalent with a focus in technology and/or finance-related subjects
Job Responsibilities
- engineer reliable data pipelines for sourcing, processing, distributing, and storing data in different ways, using cloud data platform infrastructure effectively
- transform data into valuable insights that inform business decisions, making use of our internal data platforms and applying appropriate analytical techniques
- develop, train, and apply data engineering techniques to automate manual processes, and solve challenging business problems
- ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements.
- build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
- understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
- Codify best practices, methodology and share knowledge with other engineers in UBS
- shape the Reference Data Mastering and Distribution architecture and technology stack within our new cloud-based datalake-house.
