Accenture Interview Experience

Interview Experience – 1

Round 1: Cognitive & Technical Interview

This round includes aptitude questions and technical questions related to programming languages.

Most questions are manageable if you have a good understanding of the syllabus (for the latest syllabus, you can refer to PrepInsta).

This is an elimination round. If you clear it, you move on to the Coding Round, which is a non-elimination round.

  • Attempt at least one coding question completely.
  • If you attempt both questions and pass all test cases for at least one, you will be eligible for the next round.

Round 2: Communication Round

This is also a non-elimination round. It focuses on assessing your basic communication skills through various activities:

  • Repeating sentences after an audio command
  • Reading sentences clearly displayed on the screen
  • Listening to short stories and rephrasing them
  • Arranging jumbled words into meaningful sentences

Tips:

  • Use good-quality headphones (3.5mm jack) and a clear microphone.
  • Avoid noisy surroundings.
  • Listen carefully, as the accent in the audio may sometimes be tricky.
  • You can also find sample exercises on YouTube for practice.

Round 3: HR Interview

This is an elimination round, but if you are well-prepared, it is manageable.

Preparation Tips:

  • Focus on your resume; all questions will be based on it.
  • Revise your major projects, as they are a highlight of your profile.
  • Be ready to answer questions like:
    • Tell me about your major project.
    • What challenges did you face during the project development?
    • Who assisted you besides online resources?
    • What were your contributions and future plans for the project?

Interview Experience – 2

Due to the pandemic, the entire recruitment process was conducted virtually.

The process had four rounds:

  1. Cognitive and Technical Assessment
  2. Coding Round
  3. Communication Round
  4. HR/Technical Interview

I applied based on the eligibility criteria, and after registration, I received an email a few days later for the Cognitive and Technical Assessment.

Round 1: Cognitive and Technical Assessment

This was an elimination round.

The assessment consisted of around 100 questions of easy to medium difficulty across six sections:

  • Numerical Ability
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • Verbal Ability
  • Common Computer Applications and MS Excel
  • Pseudocode
  • Network Security and Cloud

The verbal section was the easiest, covering basic English, comprehension, synonyms, and antonyms. Numerical Ability and Analytical Reasoning were more time-consuming, leaving very limited time for Computer Applications and Network Security & Cloud sections.

After completing the test, I waited for about 5 minutes for the results. Since I cleared the round, I was moved to the Coding Round.

Round 2: Coding Test

This round consisted of two coding questions. The difficulty level was moderate, and I was able to solve both questions successfully.

Round 3: Communication Round

This round was mandatory but not eliminatory. The focus was on evaluating communication skills through various activities.

Round 4: Interview Round

A week later, I received the interview link and had two days to prepare.

During the interview, the questions asked included:

  1. Tell me about yourself.
  2. Explain one of your projects.
  3. Which is your favorite programming language and why?
  4. What was your best subject in engineering?
  5. How do you prepare for exams on short notice?
  6. Tell me about a failure in your academics and how you plan to improve.
  7. Which IT domain do you prefer?
  8. Which new technology did you learn recently?
  9. What is your short-term goal?
  10. Do you have any questions for me?

The interview lasted for about 25 minutes and was relatively informal, focusing more on HR-related questions than technical ones.

After about two weeks, I received the confirmation that I had been selected.

If you want, I can combine both interview experiences into a complete “Accenture Fresher Interview Guide” with tips, preparation strategy, and a round-by-round breakdown.

The coding round had two questions of medium difficulty, each with two test cases.
After clearing this round, I received an email confirming eligibility for the Communication Assessment round.

Sample Questions:

  1. Anagram Check: Write a function to verify if two given strings are anagrams. Return ‘yes’ if they are, else return ‘no’.
  2. Productsmallpair Function:

    • Finds arr[j] and arr[k] (j ≠ k) as the smallest elements in the array.
    • If n < 2 or array is empty, return -1. If pairs are not found, return 0. Ensure all values are within integer range.

This round focused on evaluating English listening and speaking skills.
It is mandatory but not an elimination round. After completing this, candidates moved on to the final interview.
