Role Overview

Duck Creek Technologies is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join its AI engineering team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on developing and improving AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Python, and Generative AI technologies.

The selected candidate will work on evaluating AI-generated responses, building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and organizing information into knowledge graphs. This opportunity is suitable for early-career engineers who have a strong programming foundation and hands-on experience building original AI/LLM projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop tools and testing frameworks to measure the accuracy, reliability, and quality of AI-generated responses.
• Create evaluation datasets and use metrics such as precision, recall, and F1-score to assess model performance.
• Design knowledge graphs to represent entities, relationships, and connected information in a structured format.
• Build Python-based Generative AI applications using prompt engineering, embeddings, and RAG techniques.
• Implement information retrieval and similarity-search solutions using embeddings and graph-based approaches.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following software development best practices.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to improve AI systems and document technical implementations.
• Explore evaluation methods and tools that make LLM-powered applications more dependable and effective.

Skills Required

• Strong programming knowledge in Python.
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and embeddings.
• Basic knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and structured AI outputs.
• Understanding of AI model evaluation concepts and performance metrics.
• Knowledge of entity-relationship modelling, graph structures, or information retrieval.
• Problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn emerging AI technologies.
• An active GitHub profile showcasing at least one original and meaningful AI/LLM project.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Candidates with a CS/IT background should demonstrate relevant AI knowledge through coursework or practical projects.
• Applicants should have 0–2 years of professional experience.
• Practical experience with an independently developed AI/LLM project is required.
• Candidates must submit their resume along with a working GitHub profile link demonstrating their original project work.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI evaluation tools such as Ragas or DeepEval, or custom LLM-as-a-judge implementations.
• Familiarity with knowledge graph technologies such as Neo4j or NetworkX.
• Exposure to graph modelling standards such as RDF/OWL.
• Knowledge of AI agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience with vector databases, cloud platforms, or REST API development using FastAPI or Flask.

A working GitHub profile featuring an original AI/LLM project is mandatory. Applications without a valid GitHub link demonstrating genuine project work will not be considered.
