Are you passionate about crafting intuitive and impactful user experiences? Siemens Foundational Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level UX Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will supply the design and improvement of core platforms, tools, and underlying technologies that empower Siemens’ diverse product portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a budding UX professional to learn from experienced designers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a tangible impact on complex enterprise solutions.

Interns help the business with tasks assigned by different teams, like conducting research, gathering data, and collaborating closely with other team members to gain a deeper understanding of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support User Research: Assist in planning and conducting user research activities, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries. Help synthesize findings and translate them into actionable insights.
• Contribute to Invent Artifacts: Develop and iterate on low-fidelity wireframes, user flows, site maps, and basic prototypes to visualize design concepts.
• Assist with Design System Maintenance: Support the application and evolution of our design system, ensuring consistency and adherence to established UX/UI patterns across foundational technologies.
• Document UX Specifications: Help document user requirements, design specifications, and interaction patterns for development teams.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with senior UX designers, product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver user-centered solutions.
• Participate in Design Reviews: Actively participate in design critiques and feedback sessions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Learn and Grow: Stay up to date with the latest UX trends, tools, and methodologies, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Conduct Competitive Analysis: Assist in analyzing competitor products and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Invent, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of professional experience in UX design (internships, academic projects, and personal projects are highly valued).
• Basic understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, and accessibility guidelines.
• Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure RP, or similar.
• A portfolio demonstrating academic or personal UX projects, showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills (even if simple or student-level).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas clearly.
• Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and ability to work optimally in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or strong interest in designing for sophisticated enterprise software, industrial applications, or technical platforms.
• Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
