Job Description :
Calix is seeking a highly motivated and talented intern with programming experience in the Java/J2EE stack. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an eagerness to learn, and be an engineering graduate preferably in computer science or a related field. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that enhance your learning and business experience.
For the position of new trainee engineer, we are looking for a well-organized graduate to join our team. Meeting attendance, desktop and field research, all practical and administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor, site visits when necessary, project assistance, improvement suggestions, and report writing are among the duties of the trainee engineer. You should be willing to venture outside of your comfort zone and have the ability to collaborate with others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with threat researchers and security engineers to analyze network-based attacks and generate detection logic.
- Perform packet-level analysis using PCAPs and tools like Wireshark or Zeek.
- Assist in developing and testing detection signatures for IPS/NIDS systems.
- Participate in the development of internal tools to improve research workflows and automation in Python.
- Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering for emerging threats, indicators of compromise (IoCs), and TTPs.
- Support creation of technical documentation, threat reports, and playbooks.
- Engage in technical discussions during all phases of the threat research and signature development lifecycle.
- Assist in building simulated attack scenarios to validate detection capabilities.
