Job Description :
As an Apprentice Data Engineer, you will support the development, optimization, and maintenance of data pipelines, integrations, and cloud‑based data solutions that underpin Energy Horizons’ analytics and engineering platforms. Working within a SAFe Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and cloud platform teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality data services.
This apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience with modern data engineering tools, cloud environments, and best practices—helping build a strong foundation for a future career in data engineering.
Responsibilities & Impact
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets.
- Support the development and optimization of ETL/ELT workflows using modern data engineering frameworks.
- Work with senior engineers to implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring systems.
- Help integrate and transform data from internal APIs, third‑party sources, and cloud storage systems.
- Contribute to building and maintaining data models, metadata, and documentation.
- Learn to use cloud‑native tools (e.g., Azure, AWS) to support scalable data processing.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering tasks.
- Assist with testing, debugging, and deploying data pipelines in a secure, governed environment.

Basic Required Qualifications

- Good to have exposure (0–6 months) to data engineering, databases, or software development through coursework or projects.
- Basic understanding of data engineering concepts such as ETL, data pipelines, or cloud storage.
