Module 4 : TCS Complete Recruitment Process – 2026

TCS is one of the largest IT service companies in the world and hires thousands of freshers and experienced professionals every year. In 2026, the recruitment process of TCS is designed to test candidates on aptitude, technical knowledge, communication, behavior, and work attitude. The company follows a structured and transparent hiring method to ensure that only capable and reliable candidates are selected.

The recruitment process mainly depends on type of hiring (on-campus, off-campus, or experienced hiring) and role (Ninja, Digital, Prime, or lateral roles). However, the overall structure remains mostly similar across all hiring types.

1. MODES OF HIRING IN TCS (2026)

TCS recruits candidates through different channels:

On-Campus Hiring

This is conducted in colleges for final-year students. Candidates are shortlisted based on academic criteria and college tie-ups with TCS.

Off-Campus Hiring

Open to candidates from any college who meet eligibility criteria. Registration is usually done through TCS official portals and hiring programs.

TCS NQT (National Qualifier Test)

This is the primary gateway for freshers. Based on NQT scores, candidates are mapped to Ninja, Digital, or Prime roles.

Lateral Hiring

2. ROLES OFFERED BY TCS (2026)

TCS mainly offers three entry-level roles:

  • Ninja Role – Entry-level role for support and basic development projects
  • Digital Role – Technical role requiring coding and problem-solving skills
  • Prime Role – High-end technical role for advanced candidates

Each role has different:

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (GENERAL)

    Tests arithmetic ability such as percentages, profit & loss, time & work, ratio, averages, and speed-distance problems.
  2. Logical Reasoning
    Includes puzzles, series, coding-decoding, seating arrangement, blood relations, and direction sense.
  3. Verbal Ability
    Includes reading comprehension, sentence correction, grammar, and vocabulary.
  4. Programming / Coding (for Digital & Prime roles)
    Contains coding questions based on strings, arrays, loops, and logic building.

The purpose of this test is to evaluate:

  • Problem-solving ability
  • Logical thinking
  • Basic language skills
  • Coding logic

Each section usually has a cutoff, and candidates must clear all mandatory sections to move forward.


5. STAGE 2: TECHNICAL INTERVIEW

Candidates who clear the online test are shortlisted for the technical interview. This round checks subject knowledge and practical understanding.

Topics commonly asked:

  • Programming language (C, C++, Java, Python)
  • DBMS (SQL, normalization, keys)
  • Operating Systems
  • Computer Networks
  • OOPS concepts
  • Projects from resume

Typical technical questions:

  • Explain your project

The interviewer mainly checks:

6. STAGE 3: MANAGERIAL / HR INTERVIEW

In many cases, technical and HR interviews are combined. In some cases, there is a separate HR round.

HR focuses on:

  • Attitude
  • Stability
  • Adaptability
  • Long-term interest

Common HR questions:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why TCS?
  • Are you willing to relocate?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

The HR round mainly checks:

7. DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

After interview clearance:
