Typically 90 days (3 months) notice period when resigning voluntarily.
Must serve the full notice period unless a waiver is approved by HR.
For Mid-Level / Experienced Employees:
Standard notice period is usually 2–3 months depending on role, responsibility, and employment contract.
Senior or critical roles may require longer notice periods due to project handover and client commitments.
Probation Period Employees:
Employees on probation generally have shorter notice periods, often 15–30 days for resignation or termination.
2. Notice Period Buyout / Waiver
Tech Mahindra may allow notice period buyouts in some cases:
If an employee wants to join another company earlier, the remaining notice period may be compensated financially.
Approval is discretionary and depends on project criticality and HR/manager approval.
3. Exit Procedure During Notice Period
Handover of Work: Employees must complete handover of assigned projects or responsibilities to a replacement or manager.
Clearances: Return all company assets, documentation, and credentials.
Final Settlement: Salary for the notice period, pending bonuses, leave encashment, and other dues are processed at the end of the notice period.
4. Resignation Process
Submit resignation in writing to HR and reporting manager.
Serving the full notice period is generally mandatory, unless a buyout or waiver is approved.
Leaving without serving the notice period may result in salary deductions or withholding of relieving letter.
5. Key Points to Remember
Tech Mahindra often enforces service‑bonds/training‑period agreements for freshers or special hires, which may tie them for 24 months.
Notice period may be reduced (or a buyout accepted) only with company/management approval and completion of all handovers, documentation, and asset returns.
For termination due to misconduct or serious issues, the company may dismiss without notice.
Completing handover and clearance properly is crucial to receive your relieving letter and avoid disputes.
