Tech Mahindra Hiring Process

Tech Mahindra conducts recruitment through a multi-stage selection process to hire freshers for Software Engineer roles.
There are two recruitment modes:

  • On-Campus Drives
  • Off-Campus Drives / Referral Drives

They usually offer two salary packages for freshers:

  • ₹3.25 LPA — via the regular hiring route
  • ₹5.5 LPA — if the candidate clears the Supercoder test
    (The package may change depending on business requirements.)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Tech Mahindra, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • B.E/B.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Telecom/Electronics) or MCA / M.Sc (Computer Science)
  • No active backlogs
  • Minimum 70% marks in 10th, 12th, and Graduation
  • No academic gap

Recruitment Stages

Resume Shortlisting (Optional for Campus)

Used mainly for Off-Campus & Referral Drives
Resumes are filtered using ATS scoring
Candidates who meet eligibility + high résumé match move ahead

More than 60% candidates are filtered at this stage.


Online Assessment Test

Total duration: 60 minutes, 37 questions

Supercoder Test (Optional)

Duration: 90 minutes
1 complex coding question
If cleared → package upgraded to ₹5.5 LPA
If not cleared → candidate continues with ₹3.25 LPA path


Conversational / Communication Assessment

Duration: 20 minutes
Tests: reading, listening, grammar, speaking, comprehension
Scores influence final decision but rarely elimination round


Technical Interview

Most candidates are filtered here — very high difficulty

Topics include:

✔ Programming language knowledge
✔ DSA & problem-solving
✔ Certificates / internships
✔ Academic concepts

Difficulty increases significantly for Supercoder (₹5.5 LPA) interview


HR Interview

Final round — focuses on personality & work expectations.

Common checks:

  • Relocation readiness
  • Work pressure handling
  • Night shift/no shift-timings concern
  • Team compatibility & cultural fit
