JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Software Trainee Engineer at Siemens Healthineers in Pune, you will join the engineering team working on a cloud-based oncology SaaS platform hosted on AWS — a platform used by cancer patients, clinicians, and healthcare providers across the world. Your day-to-day work will involve assisting in frontend, backend, and API development, writing and executing test cases, participating in code reviews, supporting CI/CD activities using GitLab, and learning observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace. You will also get exposure to AI-assisted development tools and Agile/Scrum practices as you contribute to real product features under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This role is best suited for fresh graduates or recently completed BE, MSc, MCA, or Computer Science degree holders with 0 to 1 year of experience who are curious about cloud technologies, software engineering, and healthcare tech. If you are a quick learner who enjoys problem-solving, is comfortable in a fast-paced team environment, and has a genuine interest in AI and modern software development practices, this is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your software engineering career with a globally recognised MedTech company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software features and automation tests under the guidance of senior engineers
• Contribute to frontend, backend, and API development activities as part of an Agile/Scrum team
• Learn and use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar to improve coding and testing productivity
• Create and execute test cases for web, mobile, and API functionality
• Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices
• Support CI/CD pipeline activities and deployments using GitLab
• Gain hands-on exposure to AWS cloud technologies and SaaS application architecture
• Learn monitoring and observability practices using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Pendo

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Basic knowledge of programming concepts and software development principles
• Familiarity with at least one language — Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Kotlin
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced development environment
• Interest in cloud technologies, AI/GenAI, and healthcare software engineering

QUALIFICATIONS / PREFERRED SKILLS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, MCA, or a related field (BE, MSc, MCA accepted)
• Freshers or candidates with 0 to 1 year of relevant experience are eligible to apply
• 2024 or 2025 batch graduates or recently completed postgraduates are welcome
• Experience using AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Claude through personal projects or coursework is a plus
• Any prior exposure to cloud platforms, API testing, or Agile development is an added advantage
