Job Overview

The Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) program at L&T is designed to onboard diploma graduates into core engineering functions. Trainees will work on large-scale infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, and technology projects, gaining hands-on exposure to real industrial environments.

This role focuses on building strong technical foundations, practical site experience, and project execution skills, preparing candidates for long-term engineering careers within L&T.

Eligibility Criteria

• Diploma students graduating in 2025
• Diploma in relevant engineering streams such as:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electronics / ECE
• Minimum aggregate percentage (typically 60% or above)
• No active backlogs at the time of application
• Willingness to relocate across India
• Good academic and disciplinary record

 Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in project execution and site operations
• Support senior engineers in design, planning, and implementation
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure work progress
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality guidelines
• Prepare reports, documentation, and technical data

Operational Responsibilities

• Work on construction sites / manufacturing units / engineering projects
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
• Troubleshoot basic engineering issues
• Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Full-time) from a recognized institute
• Specializations:
  • Mechanical / Civil / Electrical / ECE or related fields

 Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of core engineering concepts
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
