Role Overview

Qualcomm is hiring RF Software Engineers for its Modem-RF Software team in Hyderabad.

In this role, you will work on software that interacts closely with RF hardware, modems, baseband systems, and wireless communication technologies. The position is suitable for fresh graduates and early-career engineers who have a strong foundation in C/C++, embedded software, RF concepts, and digital communications.

You will contribute to the development, debugging, optimization, and validation of software used in Qualcomm’s wireless communication chipsets.

Job Description

As an RF Software Engineer, you will be involved in developing software and drivers for Qualcomm’s Modem-RF platforms. The role requires collaboration with teams working across hardware, firmware, modem systems, RF engineering, testing, and wireless technologies.

You may work on software components that help improve wireless system performance, RF testing, device functionality, and overall chipset reliability.

The position also provides an opportunity to work with technologies associated with LTE, 5G NR, digital communications, RF systems, and embedded real-time environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components for Modem-RF and wireless communication platforms.
• Write, debug, and optimize C/C++ code for embedded systems.
• Work on device drivers and software modules that interface with RF and modem hardware.
• Collaborate with RF, modem, hardware, ASIC, physical-layer, and testing teams.
• Investigate and resolve complex software, modem, and RF-related issues.
• Support the development and integration of new wireless communication features.
• Analyze system behavior and help improve RF and modem performance.
• Participate in software validation and debugging throughout the product development cycle.
• Work with hardware and RF test equipment during testing and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to software designed for real-time embedded environments.
• Assist in improving system testability, performance, and product quality.
• Work with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and resolve technical problems.

Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates from relevant engineering backgrounds can apply.

Technical Skills

Candidates should have:

• Strong knowledge of C and/or C++ programming.
• Understanding of software development and debugging concepts.
• Fundamentals of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Good understanding of digital communication concepts.
• Knowledge of RF theory and wireless communication systems.
• Understanding of basic communication theory and radio architectures.
• Familiarity with wireless technologies such as LTE or 5G NR is an advantage.
• Understanding of modem or communication device drivers is beneficial.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze software and system-level issues.
