Job Overview
Ericsson is hiring an Automation Support Engineer for its Noida, Uttar Pradesh location. This is an early-career opportunity for candidates interested in automation, scripting, Linux systems, telecom technologies, and technical support.
In this role, you will assist with developing and maintaining automation solutions for operational processes. You will also be involved in system monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, process improvement, and coordination with internal teams and customers.
The position is suitable for candidates with a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecom, or Electronics who have basic programming and Unix/Linux knowledge and are interested in building their technical expertise.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of automation solutions based on defined technical requirements.
- Work with AI and Large Language Model (LLM) concepts where applicable to automation activities.
- Monitor automated processes and operational systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and investigate software or scripting-related issues.
- Identify minor code errors and assist in resolving technical problems.
- Work with Linux/Unix and Windows-based environments for day-to-day operational activities.
- Support monitoring technologies and platforms such as ELK and Prometheus.
- Develop, maintain, and improve scripts using programming or scripting languages.
- Assist with recurring operational activities such as reporting, backups, restoration, and process documentation.
- Identify repetitive tasks that can be automated and contribute to improving operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate technical and process documentation.
- Coordinate with team members and customers to understand requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Provide support and guidance to junior or new team members when required.
- Prepare periodic status and progress reports for management and customers.
- Follow established technical procedures and high-level design requirements while implementing automation solutions.
- Contribute ideas for improving processes and reducing manual effort.
Skills Required
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Knowledge of Unix Shell scripting is an advantage.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, or a similar programming language.
- Familiarity with basic Unix utilities and scripting tools such as AWK and SED.
- Basic understanding of SQL and databases.
- Knowledge of RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows environments.
- Understanding of troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with monitoring or logging platforms such as ELK and Prometheus.
- Basic understanding of mobile or telecom technologies.
- Awareness of AI and LLM concepts.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively within a team.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecom, Electronics, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include B.E., B.Tech, or M.Tech from a recognized university.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux-based operating systems is preferred.
- Candidates with knowledge of Cisco switches, NetBackup, and databases may have an additional advantage.
Experience
- Suitable for freshers and candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience.
- Candidates with practical knowledge of scripting, Linux, automation, or technical support are encouraged to apply.
