Types of Interviews in HCL GET Hiring Process

Round 1: Cognitive Aptitude Test

This is the elimination round and usually includes:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Verbal Ability
  • Computer / IT FundamentaIs (OS, DBMS, Networking, CN)
  • Sometimes basic Coding MCQs (role dependent)

Duration: 75 minutes
Difficulty Level: Medium–High


Round 2: Technical Interview

The panel evaluates:

  • Programming concepts (Java / C / Python / C++ — based on resume)
  • OOPs Concepts
  • Data Structures
  • SQL Queries
  • DBMS
  • OS basics
  • Networking basics (if relevant)
  • Project explanation
  • Internship experience (if available)
  • Coding problems (logic-based)

Important Note: They ask deeper questions on whatever skills you mention in resume.


Round 3: HR Interview

This round checks:

  • Communication skills
  • Confidence and personality
  • Long-term vision & goals
  • Corporate etiquette
  • Availability for relocation / night shift / bond
  • Teamwork & leadership qualities
  • Strengths and weaknesses

Final Note

Even though the hiring process is technical, communication and clarity of explanation play a big role in both technical and HR rounds. Many candidates get rejected not because of lack of knowledge, but because they cannot express their knowledge properly.
