Deloitte India – Campus Placement Experience (Paraphrased Version)
This year, Deloitte India visited our institute to conduct a recruitment drive. Our Training and Placement Officer (TPO) shared a registration link which allowed us to enroll and download our admit cards for the written test. To prepare, I referred to previous Deloitte question papers available on Unstop, as suggested by my seniors, and they proved extremely helpful. The complete hiring process included four stages: a Written Test, Deloitte Versant Assessment, Group Discussion, and an HR Interview.
The written assessment was divided into three sections:
| Section | Number of Questions | Time Duration |
| Aptitude | 14 | 20 minutes |
| Logical Reasoning | 14 | 14 minutes |
| Verbal Ability | 22 | 18 minutes |
The Versant Test was conducted over a phone call via IVR (Interactive Voice Response), mainly to evaluate English communication and fluency. A minimum of 75 percentile was required to qualify. It had five sections:
📍 Section A
A 3-minute audio was played. After listening carefully, I had to answer questions related to the audio.
📍 Section B
IVR read out sentences with blanks, and I had to respond with the correct words, ensuring proper grammar.
📍 Section C
I was asked to fluently read a paragraph aloud for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
📍 Section D
A self-introduction was required, focusing on correct sentence structure and fluency.
📍 Section E
I had to speak for about a minute on a given topic — mine was “Effects of Global Warming”.
After the call ended, my result was shared directly via email.
Shortlisted candidates were grouped in teams of 6–7. We were given 10 minutes to prepare a discussion and present various viewpoints.
My group’s topic was “Save the Girl Child” and I highlighted the issue of female infanticide and its impact on the gender ratio in India.
I felt confident after clearing the earlier rounds. The HR interview was simple and focused mainly on:
No technical questions were asked in my interview.
Once all interviews were finished, the selected candidates’ names were announced — I was delighted to see mine on the list. Deloitte India sent my offer letter within a week, and the joining letter followed approximately one month later after accepting the offer.
Deloitte conducted their hiring process at our campus in July. Students who had a minimum CGPA of 6.5 and no active backlogs were eligible to participate. Those who qualified were invited to take the online assessment hosted on the AMCAT platform.
The total duration of the exam was 90 minutes consisting of three sections, each containing 25 questions:
📌 Verbal Ability
Included fundamental English grammar, sentence correction, reading comprehension, and vocabulary-related questions.
📌 Logical Reasoning
Questions involved topics like blood relations, logical puzzles, data sufficiency, analytical reasoning, etc.
📌 Quantitative Aptitude
Major topics included LCM & HCF, averages, time & distance, percentages, and basic arithmetic concepts.
Candidates who successfully cleared this online test were shortlisted for the personal interview round.
The interview took place after about one week. We received a meeting link via email.
The session lasted for approximately 20 minutes and included a mix of technical and HR questions.
Some of the questions asked were:
A few days later, I received an email confirming that I had been selected for the role. It was a proud and exciting moment for me.
Recruitment Process – SDE Role
I applied for the Software Development Engineer (SDE) position at HashedIn through a referral I received from a LinkedIn connection. Soon after, I was invited to participate in their selection process, which consisted of four stages.
The coding problems ranged from medium to advanced difficulty. We had to write efficient code that passed all given test cases. I successfully solved all the questions and a few days later received an email for the next round.
This interview was conducted on Zoom and lasted around 45–50 minutes.
The interviewer asked a mix of programming, database, and networking-related questions:
After clearing this round, I received another email for the second technical interview.
This session continued for approximately 40 minutes. The key questions asked included:
I answered the questions confidently and successfully wrote the code and SQL query. Later, I was notified that I had been shortlisted for the HR interview.
This round focused more on personality and cultural fit:
Deloitte Campus Placement – Business Technology Analyst Role
Deloitte visited our campus to recruit candidates for the Business Technology Analyst (BTA) position. Students from all batches were allowed to participate, provided they had 60% or above and no active backlogs. The selection process consisted of three rounds:
The assessment was conducted through AMCAT and included six sections:
Those who performed well moved on to the next stage.
Unlike a typical debate-style GD, this round was more of a collaborative presentation-based activity.
I made sure to participate actively, demonstrate teamwork, and communicate clearly. The focus was on assessing:
✔ Team collaboration
✔ Communication skills
✔ Professional behavior
A large number of candidates were eliminated in this round, and only those who performed well were shortlisted for the final interview.
The final interview lasted around 35–40 minutes and included technical questions primarily based on my academic project.
Some of the questions asked were:
Then the interviewer shifted to HR-based questions:
Deloitte visited my campus.
Our TPO had already told us about the drive and the eligibility criteria for the same. They had asked for a minimum cgpa of 6.5. No active backlogs. All branches were eligible for this drive.
There were 2 rounds:

However the AMCAT does not allow you to change the answer once submitted so be careful while answering.
Also since I did not know the exact cutoff but I had heard and read that Deolitte’s cutoff is usually very high, I tried my best to answer as many questions as I can correctly.
There are no negative markings.
This round was a combination of Technical as well as HR round.
The interviewer had my resume with him and he asked me questions based on that.
The questions that he asked included:
Then he asked me to share my screen and told me to write code in my notepad.
I was able to solve both of them.
Then he told me to stop the screen share.
Next he asked me a puzzle.
There are 3 mislabelled jars. One has type A, one has type B and the third has a combination of A and B. What are the minimum number of jars I have to open to label the jars correctly. I was able to answer this question easily, as I had read about it before.
Lastly he asked me some HR questions.
The interview well went for me and I got a mail after a week stating that I had cleared the round and was selected for the profile.
